I saw “Somewhere” for the first time on friday and I loved it. I was really scared that maybe I wouldn’t like it and it would disappoint me. I’m a big Sofia Coppola fan and it’s really upsetting when a director I admire makes a bad film. BUT the film was great! Ok, the plot is very simple and there’s little dialogue, but Sofia can express a lot of things just with images like no one can. To sum up, I want to spend some weeks at Chateau Marmont too (I’ve checked their rates and they are not as expensive as I thought).
As usual, the aesthetic of the film is unique, you can recognise Sofia’s touch on every scene. Stephen Dorff is perfect for the role, and Elle Fanning too. Sweet and kind. I loved the costume design, very basic, and wisely chosen. Marc Jacobs meets Erin Fetherston.
PS: Erin Wasson and Angela Lindvall make a cameo!

El viernes vi “Somewhere” por primera vez y me encantó. Tenía miedo de que no me gustara y que me decepcionara. Soy una gran fan de Sofia Coppola y entristece cuando un director al que admiro hace una película mala. ¡Pero la película es genial! Vale, el argumento es muy simple y apenas hay diálogo, pero sólo Sofía puede expresar tantas cosas a través de imágenes y gestos. En resumen, que yo también quiero pasar una temporada en el Chateau Marmont (he mirado precios de las habitaciones y todo. No es tan caro como pensaba)
Como de costumbre, la estética del film es única y se puede reconocer el toque de Sofia en cada escena. Stephen Dorff es perfecto para el papel, y Elle Fanning también. Muy dulce y graciosa. El vestuario está sabiamente elegido, básico, y es todo muy armonioso. Una mezcla entre Marc Jacobs y Erin Fetherston.

Jo, yo soy super fan de Sofia, pero Somewhere, a pesar de que los actores me gustaron mucho, no me acabó de convencer. Me dió mucha rabia por que tenía todos los ingredientes para encantarme ¡pero no me gustó!
