Petra Mora is the new gourmet label launched by the Bimba & Lola creators María and Uxía Domínguez (nieces of Adolfo Domínguez). They’ve managed to create a unique style with their clothes and accesories at Bimba & Lola, and with Petra Mora they’ve done it again. After navigating around their website (there’s an online store), I’ve fallen in love with the packaging of each and every product. The design of the boxes, cans and jars is tremendously original and very special, with a vintage touch thanks to the illustrations. The fonts they’ve chosen are genius, and as I’m a fan of types, they won my heart. The Domínguez sisters are the ones behind Petra Mora’s image.
I visited the store in Madrid (21, Ayala) on Saturday, to get to know it and take some photos. I loved the sweets and bakery section, even though I usually skip dessert, it was difficult to resist the DIY cookie mixes (with M&M’s, chocolate and almonds…), the brownies, the giant chocolate bars, the jams, the strawberry sugar… They also have ice-creams, the vanilla one is amazing (I tried it and can confirm). The snacks, tinned food and take-away dishes are a guilty pleasure too, and well, the cheese offer is just too good. They also sell all kinds of original pasta, and flour to prepare crèpes, homemade bread, buns… The section they most recommend at Petra Mora is the meats, specially the hamburgers.
Delicious for every sense (literally). Have a look at their online minimarket, but if you still have to wait for lunch, beware! It will make you hungry… :D
