Lithe clock: time has a life of its own

Thanks to the blog I get to know really great initiatives. Throughout all these years I’ve met incredible designers and seen wonderful projects. This is one of them: The Lithe clock was conceived by Studio Ve, a product design duo: Shay Carmon and Ben Klinger, based in Tel Aviv. They published their idea on Kickstarter to get funds, and even though they only needed $15.000, people have donated +$30.000. Shay contacted me to tell me about their project and I loved the idea.

The explanation behind the clock is truly beautiful:
‘The way we experience time is subjective: sometimes we feel time goes by so fast, and there are times when we feel it doesn’t move at all. We wanted to share that feeling of time, the way people experience it.

The Lithe Clock presents a new appearance of time. Its long hands move smoothly, in a soft flowing motion, resembling a dance – they rise and wilt, turn and bend.’

It is a great metaphor of time, isn’t it?

The clock will be on sale very soon.

  1. At first, I couldn’t find the clock in the image! It’s so delicate and unassuming until you notice it, then it’s the only piece you can keep focus on. My aunt used to own a clock shop and had pieces similar to this. Of course, there’s a uniqueness to this one I’ve never seen before. Beautiful!
